BYD Da Han: Unveiled! 1,008 km Range & Flash Charging Tech (2026)

The BYD Da Han sedan, a highly anticipated electric vehicle, has been spotted in China without camouflage, revealing its sleek design and impressive specifications. This flagship sedan is set to make a splash in the Chinese market with its all-electric and plug-in hybrid variants, offering an astonishing 1,008 km range and rapid charging capabilities. The Da Han's platform is shared with the successful Da Tang SUV, which secured over 100,000 pre-sale orders in record time. The second-generation Blade battery, capable of charging from 10% to 97% in just nine minutes, is a key feature of the Da Han. This rapid charging technology, coupled with rear-wheel steering and active suspension, promises a dynamic and efficient driving experience.

The exterior design of the Da Han showcases a blend of elegance and innovation. The glossy red color, white front pillars, and roof, along with chrome trim and multi-spoke rims, create a visually striking appearance. The 'Han' badge, visible on the center caps, adds a touch of sophistication. Semi-hidden door handles, a single taillight unit, and thin headlamps with a chrome-plated element contribute to the overall sleek and modern aesthetic. An active air intake and a LiDAR sensor on the roof hint at the vehicle's advanced assisted driving system, capable of Navigate On Autopilot (NOA) functionality.

Dimensions-wise, the Da Han is longer than the standard Mercedes-Benz S-Class, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm. The entry-level Great Han EV features a single rear-axle electric motor producing 370 kW (496 hp), while the all-wheel drive variant boasts a combined peak power of 570 kW (764 hp). The range varies between the two, with the RWD variant offering 1,008 km and the AWD version reaching 880 km. The plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor, resulting in an impressive 470 km electric range.

BYD's Da Han targets the high-end market, aiming for a price tag of 300,000 yuan (44,100 USD). This comes at a time when the existing BYD Han lineup continues to sell well in China, with domestic sales reaching 3,390 units in May for the standard BYD Han and 689 units for the more powerful Han L. The Da Han's launch is expected to further solidify BYD's position as a leading electric vehicle manufacturer in China, offering a compelling alternative to traditional luxury sedan buyers.
